    Recording artist Brenda K. Star photographed in 1988 by Drew Carolan in New York. Shot on assignment for an interview magazine featuring dance music. Drew had also directed Brenda’s first music video and shot the album cover. Archival pigment print from an edition of 30, printed on 100% cotton fine art paper with a satin baryta finish, signed and numbered in the lower margin by the artist. Dew Carolan: In the early 1980’s Drew Carolan apprenticed with several top photographers including Richard Avedon, Gilles Bensimon and Bruce Weber before starting his own photography business. Soon after he made a transition into directing music videos. Drew’s photography is also in the permanent collection of the Design Museum of London and his work has hung in museum exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York, London, Beijing and Dubai. He has also shown in Paris and extensively in New York and California galleries. His photographs have appeared in the pages of ROLLING STONE, SPIN, INTERVIEW, NEW YORK TIMES, LA TIMES, VOGUE, GQ and numerous international magazines and books.
