About

Framing options available as pictured. Image captured in 2014, completed and limited edition created in 2019. The “Papiliones” series features macro photographic visuals of a variety of butterfly species Cesarine photographed in Costa Rica. The butterfly has traditionally represented a symbol of rebirth and transformation. The artist stated, “I went to Costa Rica to get away from the urban intensity of New York. While I was there I spent a lot of time in nature, and got an opportunity to photograph the wild butterflies of the region. The images inspired me to create my Papiliones series, which means “butterflies” in Latin. This series is a reflection on my own personal metamorphosis, as I went through a lot of transitions at this time in my life and it was a phase of new beginnings.” The Papiliones series has been exhibited at the Costa Verde Photography & Art Auction at Dune Studios, April, 2015, the Groundswell Art Benefit and Auction, October 2016, at The Untitled Space gallery in Tribeca, and is in several notable private collections.
