About the Item
This image is part of my Floraphilia portfolio that has been an ongoing visual exploration for over two decades. A B&W portfolio was first published in Lenswork Magazine in 2010, a second in 2014 and a third portfolio was published in April 2023. A version of the Floraphilia portfolio was also featured in the July 2018 issue of Shadow & Light Magazine.
It has been an ongoing challenge trying to recreate the extraordinary feelings that awaken whenever I spend time in the garden shooting. By adding textures, filters and structure to my images, I am able to give my photographs a 3-dimensional feel of a painting or an etching, enabling me to share the very essence of the flower I’m photographing.
