About the Item

Entitled "Le Dégel" (Thawing), this 2016 archival abstract photograph of melting ice on a lake in the spring on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl paper is by contemporary Mendocino/Bay Area artist, Gaétan Caron (b. 1964), co-founder of Lost Art Salon in San Francisco. Gaétan captures most of his nature-inspired images in the surroundings of his off-the-grid home/work studio located in an heirloom orchard in the Mendocino hills of Northern California or through his travels. Native of Québec, this image was captured at Lake Perkins in Danville where the artist grew up. His work documents the textures, colors, forms, as well as monochromatic shadows and reflections found in nature through contemporary abstract, botanical, still life, landscape, seascape and portrait Fine Art photography.
