About the Item

Reggia by Gina Soden [2013] limited_edition and hand signed by the artist Digital photograph on Baryta paper Edition number 4 Image size: H:70.02 cm x W:105 cm Complete Size of Unframed Work: H:74.2 cm x W:109 cm x D:0.1cm Sold Unframed Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look A monumental castle in the middle of the woods features this beautiful staircase built in a neoclassical style. Gina slept in the woods in a tent nearby the night before. Emergence is a series in which Gina Soden explores the delicate balancing act in her artistic process. Her photographs are at once documents of time passing and presenting places the viewer cannot otherwise access whilst at the same time they are works of the imagination, providing beguiling glimpses to tantalise the viewer. They have to be part record and part invention. The series, captured across Europe, includes more objects in detail than before, such as the cinematic piano, the neglected car and industrial motifs. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta 325gsm Giclee print, a premium quality paper, which is perfect for Gina Soden's brightly coloured and textured images. Fine Art Baryta paper has a similar foundation to that used in the past in traditional silver fibre prints. The paper's unique glossy Baryta surface lends itself perfectly to saturated colour images. Edition of 15 with 2 A/P's. Gina Soden personally prints and check the artwork in her studio. It will then be packaged and rolled in a tube sent by courier. Size includes 2cm border so it is ready for framing. With your artwork there will be a signed & numbered certificate of authenticity. This can be affixed to the back of the print when framed.

New York Times photography critic Gene Thornton called Marco “a Minimalist, whose images are sensual, whimsical, often surreal, always strong, and deceptively simple.” “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Phil Marco on a number of my films. Phil is a man of extraordinary talents. It seems that his passion is to take an everyday object or event, and show it in an entirely new and exciting way.” Martin Scorsese. Phil’s work is represented in MOMA, The Museum of the Moving Image, and The George Eastman Museum of Photography. His first photographs were studies for his paintings, before he launched a career in print advertising. He eventually became a Director / DP for film and television for a vast base of national and international clients with his wife Patricia as Partner and Producer. In the 1980’s and 90’s Phil was the go to person for Special Effects in Television and Cinema, also best known for his graphic conceptual still lives, and his consummate mastery of lighting, and design.
