About the Item
Hubcap, subtle interior photography from the Richard Heeps series Ordinary Places, photographing Britain on the brink of change. It was Richard's first colour collection and was shot between 1986-1991, and it instantly won acclaim with an exhibition at The Photographer's Gallery. The collection has toured around the country exhibiting in many museums and galleries, being appreciated for Richard's unique aspect of capturing England on the brink of change. In 2016, he released a new edition of 25 printed in 11" x 11" to celebrate 30 years of his career, they were shown as part of his 30 Year Retrospective at MIA Photo Fair Milan.
This artwork is a limited edition of 25, gloss photographic print, dry-mounted to aluminium, presented in a museum board white window mount and a choice of black or white box frame made professionally in the UK. It is signed and numbered on reverse accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Richard Heeps’ seductive, highly saturated colours and sophisticated pictorial structures demonstrate a true love and empathy for his subject matter – be it cool, descriptive interiors, still life, portrait or landscape. His distinctive style pushes the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. He runs his own darkrooms in Cambridge (UK) where he hand prints his colour photography. His work has been exhibited in Museums and Public Galleries around England, and he has participated in Art Fairs around the world, and his work is now part of many international collections.
