This picture was taken on the first day of filming, as Senatra walked from his hotel at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach to the set of ‘The Lady in Cement’. “This was the first time I ever saw Frank and I was astonished by the mere power of his presence, mesmerizing the crowd as he walked casually past." - Terry O'Neill
Terry O’Neill, in collaboration with digital artist Mariona Vilarós, has gone back to the original black and white negative to re-work the image in colour, as O’Neill remembers. Using archival film, movie-stills and O’Neill’s own memories, they have created this new edition of “Frank Sinatra on the Boardwalk” as the photographer remembers it.
Terry O'Neill (born 1938; London, UK) is an English photographer. He gained renown documenting the fashions, styles, and celebrities of the 1960s. O'Neill's photographs display his knack for capturing his subjects candidly or in unconventional settings. His work has also been featured in numerous exhibitions. He was awarded The Royal Photographic Society's Centenary medal 'in recognition of a sustained, significant contribution to the art of photography' in 2011.
