A large pearl necklace hangs from her neck as she sits in front of a dark black background. The high contrast of the background and the model creates a romantic style portrait. Carlos Gamez de Francisco blends this traditional style portrait with a modern model to connect the past with the present. Currently, his interest with the past translates into figures, scenarios, and most importantly, the recreation of his own stories. Francisco says, "I am more fascinated in altering history than depicting it accurately.”
