Artist and IPhone photography pioneer, Savannah Spirit has been shooting photos in one form or another since she was 7 years old. Born in Los Angeles in the 70's, she comes from a long line of artists, songwriters and creatives. Savannah's unique style and vision can be attributed to growing up on pop-culture, cinema, music and the golden age of television. Not unusual for Savannah to reference an obscure song or t.v. show in one of her images. Savannah doesn't see herself just as a photographer but an artist, shaping her images into something more deep and meaningful for the viewer to understand or create their own story. Shake Sauvage, her selfie/self-portrait project started in early 2014, has evolved from shedding societal labels as a woman to ideas of censorship due to nudity mixed with social media. As an activist she has dedicated her time to covering Black Lives Matter, Occupy Wall Street, March Against Monsanto, political rallies for Bernie Sanders and many more in and around the city. Her work has been published in The Nation, Huffington Post and Snap. Savannah has exhibited nationally as well as a solo show in Paris. She has worked with Hipstamatic creating a Savannah lens for their hipstapak monthly series and curated art exhibitions throughout NYC and the boroughs including the infamous HOTTER THAN JULY® erotic art shows. She served as guest editor for (American Society of Media Photographers) blog, Sharpen. Savannah is known for her iphone photography workshops around the country and at Apple’s various locations in New York City. Her work is in private collections as well as designer Tom Ford's Houston, TX flagship store. Savannah is represented by Undercurrent Projects in NYC.

- Nipple Detail (Black and White Nude Photography, B&W Nude)By Savannah SpiritLocated in Los Angeles, CASavannah Spirit We The Nipple 30 x 30 inches Archival pigment print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag. Edition 1 of 5 Signed by artist Latest press ARTSY: May 28, 2019: The Photographers Fighting Instagram’s Censorship of Nude Bodies, by Kelsey Ables. First artist featured: Savannah Spirit. In this self portrait, Savannah Spirit turns the tradition of black and white female portraiture back on itself. The muse is the artist, and the gaze is her own. Spirit believes that an image of a woman's body should not be viewed through a purely sexual lens. Her artwork asserts that a woman is her own muse. Through her artistic, social and curatorial projects, Spirit also takes on technology and social media censors, who assume that the unclothed body of a human—especially a female human—is by definition, pornography, in need of control.
