About the Item

This piece is an original photograph of Marilyn Monroe from the original negative by photographer, George Barris. This image was taken in 1962 at the North Hollywood home of Barris' close friend and published in 1987. Barris also conducted an intimate interview with Monroe for their book project entitled "Marilyn, Her Life In Her Own Words" This piece is from a series entitled "The Last Photos", which was shot two weeks before the icon's untimely death in August of 1962. This piece is hand signed by the artist on the recto. It is numbered from the edition of 99 plus Artist Proofs and bears the Edward Weston Collection copyright stamp on the verso. This piece is unframed and measures 14 x 11 inches.
