The story of the artwork:
The ‘Mistica’ series takes the anthropological analysis that has always characterized the research of J & PEG to a new level of reflection. It appropriates the logic of the machine and the dictates that the technological world imposes to expose the falsification and consequent transfiguration that our identity undergoes in virtual reality, which simplifies and makes superficial everything that is incorporated into it. In Mistica, the fabric is a silver cloth, a clear reference to the glossy and glamorous world but also a perfect physical transposition of the pixelated dimension through which the image is formed on the net, and which acts as a mask that camouflages fragility and brings out the real essence of the person. As the artists themselves tell us, the silver cloth "allows us to paint the image through thousands of colored pigments that fragment the fiction to bring out the real". What remains behind the cloth is subject to temporal transience and is destined to be forgotten, while the new essence of being, which manifests itself through these colored pixels that fragment the fiction, is the new icon to be brought back to light.
