"I often drive across the country to photograph wild horses, visit family, or simply enjoy the outdoors in my own region,” Gagne says. “These journeys give me ample opportunity to take in incredible landscapes and to create expressive images that reveal the essence and emotion of being immersed in these natural environs. I reframe elements of nature, land, water, trees and other plants into abstract or layered images celebrating the variation of light, weather, seasons, or tides. "The Songs of the Trees series uses instinct, emotion, color and gesture, layered in-camera and digitally, each decision building on the previous. It is an intuitive and unpredictable process that often rewards me with unexpected harmonies." Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tori Gagne earned a BFA in Fine Art Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her love of photography began in grade school working with a pinhole camera and developing film in the darkroom in her family home. She was deeply influenced by her mother and brother who were both professional photographers. Tori has a retired off the track thoroughbred, who has led her deeper in to the magical world of horses, and inspiring her to devote much of her work to photographing equine subjects. She has a special affinity for wild horse photography and is happiest on a dirt road in the western states seeking herds of wild horses to photograph, and advocating for them through her work. For Tori, there is something very special and spiritual in standing in the high desert in complete silence, experiencing the vast U.S. Western lands where wild horses roam. Her journeys to photograph horses in the wild or sanctuaries, and travel to international locations, has given her ample opportunity to photograph incredible landscapes and waterscapes. In addition to her equine work, Tori creates expressive images of the natural world that reveal the essence and emotion of being immersed in these environments. Tori has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. She has received international awards for her photography, which is in private collections globally. She currently resides in her hometown of Orono, MN. 10% of proceeds from selling her equine work is donated to organizations involved in the protection of wild horses and the necessary education regarding the plight of the wild horse population in the western United States. • Earth Remains #45
    Located in Sante Fe, NM
This photograph is representative of two related series of mine that deal with humanity's impact on and relationship with the earth. This relationship is not sustainable. Lately, I have begun to dream of our tortured earth with the remains of our hubris drifting through space, mined to extinction. This work is an attempt to tear through the ugliness of the world we have made, through the blindness of our voracious appetite to the vastness beyond, where beauty cares not for our perception of it. As Robinson Jeffers wrote: “The beauty of things was born before eyes and sufficient to itself; the heartbreaking beauty/ Will remain when there is no heart to break for it.” -- William Lesch

  • Spark - underwater nude photograph from series REFLECTIONS - print on aluminum
    By Alex Sher
    Located in Beverly Hills, CA
“Spark” is a part of Alex Sher’s popular series REFLECTIONS - underwater photographs that could be almost mistaken for abstract paintings as they bring up recollections of masterpieces by Picasso, Dali or Gustav Klimt. In fact REFLECTIONS are straight photographic capturing of the water’s surface from below, with a submerged underwater camera. The photographs freeze natural momentary reflections in water surface - the unique kaleidoscopic fragmentations of human body into nearly unrecognizable forms. It is these bold accents of color, mesmerizing textures, dramatic lines, and distinctive distortions that make Sher’s works unique highly advisable masterpieces. Alex Sher’s underwater photograph “Spark” ignites the water in a boiling fiery scene. The pale tones of the skin contrast sharply against the velvety reflections of red that consume the water. What in reality would be understood as a nude photograph depicting a woman's body, breasts, and limbs, in Sher’s work transforms into a surreal spark of colors and bubbles. Original print on aluminum plate with black wooden backing. Limited edition of 12. The artwork is furnished with certificate of authenticity, signed by artist with artist's name, edition number, edition limit, and other details. The artwork needs no framing; it is being hung by a hidden frame on the back. Additional framing is available upon request. The photograph has been shown at: 2023 LA Art Show (Los Angeles, US) 2022 Spectrum (Miami, US) 2022 Beverly Hills Art Show (Beverly Hills, US) 2022 Art...
