Ned Martin
"Spirits Through Time VI, " Framed Limited Edition Giclee Print, 30" x 30"

2022

About the Item

This abstract portrait Limited Edition print by Ned Martin blends realistic and abstracted styles. Part of his Spirits Through Time series of female portraits, the woman's face is rendered realistically, while her neck and shoulders, and blue hair are abstracted, and fade out to blend with the textured, abstract black and turquoise background. Pops of lime green and bright yellow and red add contrast along the horizontal line between the deep deal and black background. This Limited Edition giclee print by Ned Martin is an edition size of 100. Printed on canvas, this giclee ships framed in a warm silver floater frame wired and ready to hang. Other floater frame options are available in white, black, gold, and walnut. For additional sizes and frame options, please contact us. Limited Edition prints are printed with pigment ink on a Premium Fine Art Matte Canvas and designed to meet museum longevity requirements and ensure consistency. The artist has granted permission to Sorelle Gallery to produce limited edition prints of their work. Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, and ships for free. Please note that all prints are made-to-order based on desired preferences, allowing for personal customization and less waste. Please also allow additional time for printing prior to shipping. Located in Harlem in New York City, Ned Martin is inspired by hectic city life. His work touches on the subjects of nature and community, which are drawn from his childhood memories of rural Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland. Martin’s work is a commentary on the global society, and the idea that everything is connected as one. After studying Fine Arts at Towson State University in Maryland, Martin continued his formal art training at the Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore. Embracing his training and his meticulous process, Martin grinds his own paints. He has painted en plein air on the River Seine in Paris, Scotland, and Italy, all of which have shaped his artistic vision. Ned Martin says of his work, “I have long believed artists are like mirrors. My job is to reflect that which others are missing while they go about their busy lives. I somehow wish my paintings were less biased, yet, my own emotions from life experiences are in every painting I create. While I still struggle with the idea, I must be completely honest that every painting is a self-portrait.” About Sorelle Gallery: Sorelle Gallery is a woman-owned fine art gallery and art advisory firm located in Westport, Connecticut.
