About the Item

"This artwork is taken from one of my own photos taken after of what was the hedonistic haze of a summer in London, on October 2019. It was my best friends thirtieth birthday celebration. We said we would go for one drink which turned into a whirlwind of hedonistic abandon for the next forty-eight hours or club, house party and bar hoping around North and South London. The art depicts the dancefloor of Egg London or Egg LDN which is a British electronic dance music venue and nightclub based in Kings Cross, North London formerly known as Trade. Egg is symbolic of rebirth and that night in question was symbolic of the transition or rebirth from chaotic impulse driven adolescence into responsible adulthood."

Giuseppe Gonella's paintings explore the rituals, the dreams and fears typical of modern humans and they take the viewer through dystopia and mysterious landscapes with uncertain horizons, appearing as illusions. His paintings detach from the reality we see and they transform and mold memories in modern allegories. His research on the human condition digs deep between introspection and desire for freedom and it is in contrast with our society...
