Mater Natura’ depicts the mirror image silhouettes of two women, standing symmetrically back-to-back, their bodies arched in a balletic pose. Agent X creates a layering effect, in which the outlines of the figures appear to have been cut from the print’s black background, revealing a richly colored, Baroque-style, floral pattern behind. Sumptuously beautiful, and rendered with a deft lightness of touch, ‘Mater Natura’ beautifully captures the elusive nature of visual art.
