His career spanned fashion, advertising, and celebrity portraiture, with clients ranging from Vogue and Glamour to Revlon and Smirnoff Vodka. Stern also created iconic portraits of Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, and Gary Cooper. His most enduring legacy is The Last Sitting (1962), a three-day session with Marilyn Monroe at the Bel-Air Hotel, just weeks before her death. These photographs have become some of the most widely collected and reproduced images of Monroe, cementing Stern’s reputation as the “photographer of beauty.” Stern’s work has been exhibited internationally in New York, London, and Tokyo, and remains part of major museum and private collections worldwide.
