THE ARTIST"
Bert Stern (1929–2013) was one of the most influential American commercial and fashion photographers of the 20th century, renowned for his stylized portraits of Hollywood icons. His career spanned fashion, advertising, and celebrity portraiture, with clients ranging from Vogue and Glamour to Revlon and Smirnoff Vodka. Stern also created iconic portraits of Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, and Gary Cooper.
His most enduring legacy is The Last Sitting (1962), a three-day session with Marilyn Monroe at the Bel-Air Hotel, just weeks before her death. These photographs have become some of the most widely collected and reproduced images of Monroe, cementing Stern’s reputation as the “photographer of beauty.”
Stern’s work has been exhibited internationally in New York, London, and Tokyo, and remains part of major museum and private collections worldwide.

Bert Stern
Bert Stern grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He dropped out of school at the age of 16 and went on to become the art director for Mayfair Magazine. Stern photographed many other iconic female celebrities, including Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna and Kylie Minogue, but will always be remembered for his captivating images of Marilyn Monroe.
