About the Item
"Sur les Ponts de Paris" (Bridges of Paris) is an original color lithograph by Francois Batet, signed on the lower right corner. Three women in stylish 20's fashion cruise by in the foreground, set on a romantic Parisian bridge with the Eiffel Tower rising in the background.

Francois Batet was born in 1921 in Barcelona, Spain. He studied painting at the School of San Jordi (Beaux Arts) and also at Tarrega Academy. When he lived in Madrid he studied the masters like Goya and Valasquez. He then moved to Paris and studied famous French impressionistic painters. He has lived and worked in France since 1950. Batet's classic School of Paris style recalls the spirit of Paris in the 1920's and 1930's. In addition to being a master print maker, he has illustrated over 100 books.
Francois Batet has exhibited throughout the world including France, U.S.A., Japan, Belgium, Germany, England, Korea, Australia and South Africa.

Francois Batet
Francois Batet was born in 1923 in Barcelona, Spain. He studied painting at the School of San Jordi (Beaux-Arts) and also at Tarrega Academy.
