About the Item
Frank Kleinholz was a lawyer-turned-modernist-artist. This work may have been printed in France in the late 1940s when he went there to learn lithography. He returned to the states in 1950.
Mostly New York City was the source of his material and this image has Broadway all over it: The signage, the marquees, the crowds. The title, 'World Premier,' just about makes the lights go on!
From an edition of 30, this is signed, dated, and numbered in pencil. It is also signed in the image at the upper left.
