This artwork titled "Vacance" 1980 is an original color serigraph on paper by renown artist Hiro Yamagata (Japanese, b. 1948) It is signed and numbered 204/300 in pencil by the artist. The image size is 21.25 x 27.25 inches, framed size is 37.75 x 43.5 inches. Custom framed in a black rubbed and gold frame, with white matting and gold color spacer. It is in excellent condition.
Born May 30, 1948 in the Shiga Prefecture of Japan, Hiro Yamagata is widely known as one of the world's most talented silkscreen artists. He also has a growing reputation for his innovative use of laser and light in his numerous creations. Having experimented with laser as a high school student in the Sixties, he was already winning awards by the time he graduated. Moving to Paris as a young man, Yamagata eventually settled in Los Angeles in 1978, where soon he earned his fame as a master silkscreener using exceptionally vivid colors. He was selected to be an official artist for two Olympics (1984, 1996) and for a host of other high profile commemorations, such as the Statue of Liberty Centennial (1986), and the Eiffel Tower Centennial (1988), and was he was chosen to lend his artistry to the 2000 Grammy Awards as well. With music composition, film making and writing a book with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and even collaborated with NASA - 2003's "Art&SPACE Exhibition-Hiro Yamagata and the World of NASA"! Yamagata, continues to live and work in Los Angeles, creating and exhibiting his art internationally. The work of Hiro Yamagata is held in public and private collections worldwide.

Hiro Yamagata
Hiro Yamagata, born in 1948 in Maibara, Japan, is a contemporary artist known for his vibrant and intricate works. He studied at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Tokyo and moved to Los Angeles in 1978, where his style was influenced by various cultures and artistic movements. Yamagata’s art features bright colors, detailed compositions, and a blend of pop art with traditional Japanese influences. His themes often include motion, energy, and the celebration of life.
In the 1980s, Yamagata began collaborating with Martin Lawrence Galleries, a partnership that helped him gain significant recognition in the U.S. Martin Lawrence Galleries produced and distributed many of his limited edition prints, expanding his audience.

About the artist:
Born in Canyon de Chelly, Arizona and raised in a hogan on the Navajo Reservation, R.C. Gorman became one of the Southwest's best known late 20th-century artists. His signature works were Navajo women in a variety of poses. Many persons have been fascinated by the fact that he, an Indian artist, became famous in the white man's world with some calling him the "Picasso of Indian artists". Of this kind of attention, he said: "I wish people would quit pushing my being Indian. The only time I was interviewed as If I were a normal person was by the Jewish Press in Tucson. Best known as the cartoonist for the New York Post’s Page Six from 1990 to 2013. His cartoons are currently syndicated by CagleCartoons and appear worldwide. An award winning painter and illustrator, his work has appeared in the nation's largest newspapers, magazines, books, television and Broadway.
Sean's work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian - National Museum of American History, the Library of Congress, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Newseum, the Cartoon Art Museum, New York Historical Society Museum and Library, the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum, appeared in shows at National Museum of Health and Medicine, the Norman Rockwell Museum, the Concord Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Sean's cartoons were responsible for the New York Mets decision to boycott the press in 1992 (New York Daily News, 03/28/1993). In 2009, his cartoons led to worldwide media attention and the largest protest against the New York Post in it's 200+ yr history with many politicians calling for his arrest. Sean's cartoons linking Freddy Ferrer to Al Sharpton "helped decide the 2001 mayoral race" ( New York magazine, March 21-28, 2005) and were mentioned in the NYC Democrat mayoral candidate's concession speech (November 7, 2001). In 2018, New Mexico’s entire congressional delegation condemned Sean for an immigration cartoon based on Trump's State of the Union speech that appeared in the Albuquerque Journal. A sold out one man art show at the Limner Gallery led to his largest commission -- creating the altar painting for the Church of St. Agnes in NYC. Many of his friends at the NY Post, were the models for this painting.
Together with his son, is the author of Scuttle's Big Wish (ReganBooks/HarperCollins 2006 and Scholastic Books 2007) and, Sean Delonas: The Ones They Didn't Print, (Skyhorse Publishing, 2015).
