Lettera Amorosa is a collection of poems in which Char uses classical lyrical elements to create the landscape where the lovers evolve. Braque was an auspicious choice to illustrate this book, as his work is largely influenced by nature. The writer and the painter had a long friendship, and they shared a common vision of nature as the true ground for the noblest of human emotions.
