Guy has a fascination with stamps. His fascination was something that just came to him by luck, the way Guy works artistically is by finding pieces that inspire, this inspiration goes anywhere from illustrated stamps, to Japanese manhole covers. Japanese design has been a prominent source of inspiration for Guy, it was a 1989 Japanese postage stamp that he found that kickstarted this obsession, and is why we have his work today. Guy has now worked with stamps of over 100 nations.
Guy's creative process includes scanning the stamp, then using editing software he picks apart his favourite aspects and blends them together to create something new, he calls this process 'digitally revised'. Guy has the right creative eye to make something that was already beautiful become incredible. Postage stamps were invented in England in 1840 and made global communication easier than ever. Guy's work is a wonderful blend of different cultures, eras and creative styles. His charming compositions are a celebration of old and new illustrations, bringing new life to something once forgotten about.
These works are the perfect reminder / souvenir for those special vacations
