Jonas Wood
Jonas Wood Gagosain Exhibition Print April 29th, July 19th New York Contemporary

2019

About the Item

This print featuring Jersey City Apartment (2019) was produced in 2019, in conjunction with the exhibition Jonas Wood at Gagosian, 555 West 24th Street, New York. The exhibition included a new series of paintings by the artist of architectural interiors and exteriors. Wood composes these through a process of layering and collaging, using photography, projection, drawing, and painting. Sources are translated and mixed into generations, which then become the basis for the large-scale paintings. The “seams” are dissolved in the final work, even if the impression of an assemblage remains palpable.
