Thomas Dembovsky (sp?)
Thomas Dembovsky (sp?), (Cubist Musician)

1935

About the Item

This full-on view of a musician and his bass (also known as an upright bass or string bass), has an air of calm befitting the lowest-pitched bowed instrument in an orchestra. One might think that the edges and right angles of this cubist composition would create a frenzy, but to me at least, they don't. There's a very elegant bow as well. The work is signed in pencil at the lower right.
