Introducing two stunning limited edition prints by Icelandic artist Katrin Fridriks. Each print is an edition of 77, with matching numbers and dimensions of 85cm x 85cm. Printed on Somerset Enhanced paper using techniques such as mixed screenprint, these works are finished with a high gloss varnish and each one is signed, dated, and numbered.
Fridriks' paintings are known for their explosive, inky, and multi-colored abstract forms created with thick mixes of acrylic. Her works are a study of movement, the environment, biology, gravity, speed, and technology. Her paintings share qualities with Abstract Expressionism but her practice has conceptual depth beyond the canvas.
Both prints are a powerful reflection of Fridriks' concerns for climate change and the impact of humankind on the earth. Emotional Landscape is a large land installation made of human-cultivated farmland that uses its subject as its material. The installation creates a bold and simple metaphor representing humankind's ceaseless exploitation of the earth's resources.
