About the Item
Les Marches Parisiens is a serigraph on black paper from a nearly sold-out edition, 24 x 36" image size - signed ‘Kondakova’ in the right corner and numbered in the left corner. Framed in a contemporary gold-tone frame. From the total edition of 500; numbered XLV/L (there were also 125 arabic on white paper; and 200 arabic, 100 Roman and 25 AP on canvas).
Les Marches Parisiens draws us in to an inviting corner in Montmartre – Rue Chappe and Rue des Trois Freres – with sun-dappled facades, spring petals on a newly wet sidewalk, and the enchanting storefront colors of “Bibet’s” Charcuterie. Kondakova captures the old-world charm that draws so many visitors to Paris from every corner of the globe, lavishing detail on the architectural elements as well as the play of light.
Kondakova’s paintings, rich with clarity and light, reflect a sense of artistic and spiritual well-being, and her meticulous attention to detail in her serigraph and digital print versions allow many more collectors to become involved in the life of her paintings.
“At times, almost any visual tour-de-force seems possible in Kondakova’s inspired repertory of images; they seem to reflect an impossibly wonderful, but still quite concrete and visible, parallel universe. The sense of time, in the modern sense, is less important than atmosphere and emotion, which colors everything she shows in such disarmingly, diligently observed detail. One is persuaded that she is, in fact, rendering quite faithfully something actually before her, yet nothing is quite as it seems to other viewers, or even to the camera’s lens.” – Professor Sam Hunter (Liudmila Kondakova – A World of Enchantment)

- El MarBy Felix MasLocated in Greenwich, CTEl Mar is a serigraph on canvas printed by the award-winning Kolibri Art Studio, 25 x 32 inches, signed 'Felix Mas' lower right and numbered 229/295 lower left. Framed in a gold-tone, acanthus leaf frame. Felix Mas is in many ways an alchemist, transforming each canvas into treasure. These once void foundations are developed into dreamlike visions – some elements recognizable to us as grounded in reality but blended with areas of surreal fantasy. It is the gentle genius of Felix Mas that lays claim to these lyrical beauties. Each limited edition print by Mas is an expertly crafted reproduction of the original painting, with every detail approved by the artist. Martin Lawrence Galleries is an affiliate of the publisher Chalk & Vermilion Fine Arts. This print therefore has no prior ownership, coming straight from the publisher.
