About the Item
This fascinating print depicts the Art Historian Jack Hillier, a specialist in Japanese prints, books and paintings. As well as being an avid collector, he also worked as a cataloger for Sotheby's for 25 years and his book 'Japanese Masters of the Color Print' was published by Phaidon Press in 1954.
This delightful woodblock print shows the bold silhouette of Jack Hiller admiring a work by Eishi, a renowned Japanese print artist. This limited-edition print was made to celebrate Hillier's 80th birthday. Signed and dated to the lower left. 19/14 Label to the reverse gives artist details and print context.
