Raquel Forner (1902-1988) Argentine woman painter and printmaker born in Buenos Aires in 1902 and died in the same city in 1988, regarded as one of the best Argentine female painters of the second half of the 20th century. FAMILY is an original hand drawn lithograph, paper size - 14 x 5.75 inches, printed in light purple, gray, and black ink on archival Arches paper, 100% acid free. Printed at J K Fine Art Editions Co. NY in 1984 during one of Ms. Forner's visits to NYC.
FAMILY is one of Ms. Forner's artistic expressionist renditions of an abstract family portrait inspired by space travel with seven children, whose members resemble friendly, interconnected imaginary cosmic beings.

When she was two her eardrum was permanently damaged during a mastoid operation. Unable to hear properly she learned to watch the eyes of the person talking to her to understand them. Keane started drawing as a child and at age 10 she took classes at the Watkins Institute in Nashville. Keane painted her first oil painting of two little girls one crying and one laughing when she was 10 years old and gave the drawing to her grandmother.
