Its medieval old town is characterized by narrow cobbled streets, lined with colorful half-timbered houses, mostly dating from the 16th century. The city is home to several Gothic churches with remarkable stained glass windows. Notably the cathedral of Troyes, the church of Sainte-Madeleine and the basilica of Saint-Urbain.
