Alice Oehr is an artist & designer from Melbourne, Australia. Her distinct, colourful style incorporates a love of food, pattern, collage and drawing. Alice has exhibited extensively in various group exhibitions, and has had two solo exhibitions; ‘Freshly Wrapped’ in 2018 and ‘CAKE’ in 2021. Her area of interest is in print-making, and she likes to push the boundaries of the medium by exploring a mash-up of digital and hand-made techniques. She creates her artworks using a combination of cut paper, bold line work, and textural brushwork. She plays with repetition, bold forms, intricate details and always heroes bright, sophisticated colours. Alice draws both for work and for fun, which has led her to teaching, speaking and writing on the subject. Like most professional doodlers, Alice loves to record the world as she moves through it, and uses her work to showcase her observations and interpretations of the details she encounters. Her commercial work is sought-after by local and international clients alike, and has appeared in numerous books as well as on textiles, homewares and large-scale installations. She has author-illustrated three of her own books; The Art of Cake (Thames & Hudson 2020), Still Life Drawing (Hardie Grant, 2021) and 'Pretend You're in Paris' (Harper Collins, 2022).
