trompe l'oeil illusion - the abstract image of cardboard.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee to a French mother and Belgian father, Anne Heyvaert led a nomadic lifestyle as a child, moving first to Belgium and then France. After graduating her moves continued throughout Europe. The continual presence of moving boxes and cartons became the inspiration for a large portion of her paintings and prints.
