About the Item

Dine, Jim. THE NEW FRENCH TOOLS 5 - BOULEVARD VICTOR DOUBLE SKY. D;Oench and Feinberg 175. Etching and aquatint and electric tools on two plates, with hand painting of the paper in blue acrylic before painting,1984. Edition of 50, plus 10 proofs. Signed, numbered 16/50 and dated 1984, all in pencil. Printed on Japan paper by Aldo Crommelynk in Paris, and published by Pace Editions, NY. 24 1/4 x 40 inches (plate) 31 1/2 x 45 inches (sheet), framed to 38 x 51 inches. In excellent condition. The suite of five prints was made with Crommelynk during 1983 and 1984, and marked a return to a theme Dine had used during the 1960s and 70s. Power tools were used to create most of the imagery, and the plates were also etched and worked with spit-bite aquatint. The blue acrylic used on the paper for this print created a "skin" on the paper to create a new effect. The titles relates not to the tools, but to places or streets near Crommelynk's atelier.

"Red Pepper", Still-Life Aquatint Etching Lithograph, Signed & Numbered
By Aaron Fink
Located in Detroit, MI
"Red Pepper" is a work that displays Aaron Fink's experiments in still-life expressionism with its more than life-like depiction of a bell pepper in vibrant color. This print made with aquatint etching marries the expressionist style with the classic realistic depiction of food that we often take for granted. The print is 36.63 x 29.63 inches and is signed and numbered from an edition of 30 by the artist. Numbered edition may not necessarily be number 11 as there are multiple prints in the possession of Collected Detroit. This is a separate lithograph from "Yellow Pepper" which can be purchased separately but is including in the photographs for contrast as a set. Aaron Fink, the son of Boston Expressionist artist Barbara Swan...
