ABOUT THIS PIECE: I painted the snow cone with particularly intense colors, because I wanted to evoke that sweet childhood feeling of pure excitement in having a frozen treat on a hot day.
ABOUT THIS ARTIST: Kendyll Hillegas is a Boston-based artist and illustrator. She received her BFA in painting in 2008. Her work focuses on capturing the emotional and narrative significance of food and everyday objects. She lives just south of the city with her husband and their cat.
