Artist Commentary: This work was started several years ago during a public art performance called Nike's Advice. I painted 130 feet of unprimed canvas with the public. It was scary! I don't consider myself a painter. I was having to accept Nike's Advice myself ... as in "Just Do It". Later I used my sewing machine to free-motion stitch around the paint, adding detail. I don't consider myself a painter. I was having to accept Nike's Advice myself ... as in "Just Do It". Later the work was free-motion stitched on my sewing machine before being coated with UV filtering epoxy. The piece is mounted using galvanized roofing nails to stretcher bars with painted edges.
