About the Item
KUNEL GAUR
Kunel Gaur did his advanced Diploma in Advertising and Graphic Design at Wigan & Leigh, UK. He is a creative designer whose personal visual style is inspired by functional design and brutalist architecture, the design movement that emerged in the 1950s and has come to evolve as a response to the overwhelming use of embellishment on visual communication both online and offline.
Kunel's creative process feeds on channelled thoughts or ideas and found sensibilities. Looking at reconstruction and appropriation as means to create a sensory overlap and extract new meaning. He creates a variety of assemblages from the material around him. He builds using architectural materials like wood, concrete, resin, metal, acrylic paint, screen printing techniques, glass and electricals, among others. He often mixes his work with the written word, flirting with what could be called prose, poetry or at once both. His work has been discussed on Hypebeast, Icographica, Vogue, Colossal, Bored Panda, Picame, and Fubiz amongst others.
He is the co-founder and CEO of NUBULA. Based in Toronto, Nubula is a location-based, augmented reality platform connecting creators and brands with collectors and fans. The recent clients include Kanye West’s jeen-yuhs and Nike.
Kunel is also the founder of ANIMAL, an independent creative agency that was recently called one of the 100 fastest-growing agencies worldwide, by Adweek. From starting as a design studio, Kunel has driven ANIMAL into becoming a full-service creative agency working with startups and fortune 100 brands on digital marketing, social media, branding, apparel, and other things.
In 2016, he launched INDIANAMA, a non-profit platform aggregating the new Indian aesthetic. He curated projects with 70+ artists each year for 4 years building narratives around the history and future of India and Indian design. The project travelled to London Design Festival, TEDx and more recently Jerusalem Design Week.

- AdversityBy Kristofer LAMEYLocated in ATLANTA, GABorn and raised in Atlanta, Kristofer Laméy has brought much to the southeastern art and design table. From debuting his unique design perspective in the 2007 ICFF in New York City and showcasing his Art at Aqua during the 2008 Art Basel in Miami, to his solo Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) exhibit titled “Serving Form” in 2010, Kristofer is best known for his one-off commissioned sculptural art forms. His work has found a place in homes and collections across the globe. One of his most ambitious design challenges was solving a decades-long problem in the aviation industry: How to more efficiently design and install jet aircraft interiors. This was the birth of AIMS. Kristofer’s work straddles a fine line that resides between art and design. Many, lost within the engineering of his creations, like to push his work out of the category of art and into the realm of design. This line is the fulcrum that leverages his work into a playing field of his own, and he is proud of that. Those looking for solutions in the marketplace that are in need of an outside perspective to differentiate a product benefit from his fresh and creative approach to modern manufacturing. In April 2020 Kristofer moved his family to the North Georgia mountain...Category
