About the Item

Whether it is the aqua and teals of the waters in South Florida, or in this case, the cooler more muted tones of Northern coastlines, the ocean is a favorite muse for artist duo KX2. The surface treatment of the metal exterior in this piece is "whitewashed"; a matte white paint that is sanded through in parts, softening the metal. The painting portion of these pieces involves many layers of different tones. The closer you look, the more texture and color you see. The top layer is a gloss clear polymer amplifying the "water" quality of the painting. 10.5 x 3.5D in. each. Installation variable.
