About the Item

CÉVÉ was born in Paris in 1951. She specializes in contemporary metalwork sculpture and is easily recognized for her unique style - simplicity of smooth lines and soft bronze crafted into charming characters. CÉVÉ intends for her sculptures to be both seen and felt in the viewer's eyes. An internationally renowned artist, CÉVÉ is also a curator for many exhibitions in France and around the globe. She has participated in more than a hundred exhibitions in the past ten years and was invited to exhibit as an exclusive artist nine times, receiving twenty-seven distinctions. In 2013, CÉVÉ was named Chairman of SNBA - the Sculpture Department of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts - the first female artist to gain this title. In 2014, she entered the Daubigny Museum of Auvers-Sur-Oise, France, and the historical Pompon Museum of Daubigny, France, for a 2016 solo exhibition.

Art is always a form of communication: communication with and between the materials employed by the artist, giving rise to an aesthetic visual balance able to convey feelings, emotions and ideas, all of which are essential to a nonconformist commitment and worldview. Moisés Gil puts his representations of individuals in sculptural structures to better indicate the place of humans in the world, the place of contemporary individuals in their different environments, sometimes hostile; they are naked men...
