This portrait is part of a series of sculptures designed by the artist during an eight-week art residency at a private hospital in Lyon (France). During several stays, the artist immersed herself into maternity life, crisscrossing the corridors with her sketchbook or modeling there and then in clay the portraits of the people who she came across, health professionals as well as patients. These sessions, marked with sensitive exchanges, created clay figures caught within the very particular circumstances of these encounters.
