CoadeSeated Frankfurt Lion in 18th century Classical Style
About the Item
One of a selection of lions we make at Coade Studio.
This Coade Stone lion sejant, is one of a handed pair commissioned by an investment bank in Frankfurt, Germany to replace a missing pair. We were given antique photos of an indistinct nature to use as an aid for the composition. However, the inspiration for the form of the lion, in particular, the head, was taken from the lions of Trafalgar Square, London, which were created by the artist Sir Edwin Landseer in 1867.
Also available as a pair.
Price for a pair of lions is 19,200 + VAT
All Coade Stone lions can be placed indoors or outdoors.
Video shows the lions coming out of the kiln.
