Depicts a sandy beach populated with swimmers and sunbathers. Mixed media artwork by Eric Zener. Employing a multi-layered materials process, Zener has combined hand gilding, resin pours, photography, and oil or ink printing, achieving a depth and vibrancy not possible when using oils on canvas. These pieces will be the last of their kind available to the public, since the technical means by which they were produced is no longer existent. Zener has characteristically approached his work with an eye to articulating enigmatic human encounters with life challenges. Expanses of water, and occasionally sky, have served as his backdrop, which he has peopled with swimmers and divers and walkers of tightropes. On occasion even the swooping slides of water parks...

The individuals in Stephen Wright’s work confront us visually and psychologically. His paintings tend to transfix. Standing before them, one is drawn in by the intent gaze of a woman, the slumped figure of a nude man, or the averted face of someone lost in reverie. Wright paints mainly solo subjects. They seem always to be slightly removed – yet they challenge, perplex, and attract us.
