About the Item
'Wild Caught 33" is a glass casting comprised entirely of glass bits and pieces. I carve a fish sculpture out of clay and then create a series of molds from that clay. The mold becomes the negative that I use to fill and layer the glass bits and pieces in. The mold is then fired to close to 1500 degrees and cooled very slowly. The piece is then cold worked until a desired finish is achieved. There is a small metal mounting disc on the back that comes with a wall mounting piece and the piece can also sit in its custom metal base for a table top display.
