Marcos Romero Gallardo
Hand-Blown Glass Ant Gold Plated Recycled Industrial Iron and Red Crystal Parts

2022

About the Item

The Ant, Gold Plated and Red Glass The sculpture by Marcos Romero, representing an ant made of recycled industrial iron and blown glass, is a fascinating work of contemporary art. Romero has created a piece that combines the hardness and resistance of metal with the fragility and transparency of glass, resulting in a visually and emotionally impactful artwork that prompts reflection on the relationship between nature and technology, strength and fragility, and the organic and the inorganic. The choice of an ant as the central theme of the sculpture is particularly interesting. This tiny insect has long been a symbol of strength and perseverance, and its industriousness has been admired since ancient times. By representing an ant in recycled iron, Romero evokes ideas of strength and resilience, while the blown glass gives the piece an ethereal and almost ghostly dimension. The glass seems to float around the iron figure, as if it were an aura or invisible energy. The fact that the entire artwork was designed and crafted by hand adds an extra layer of value. Romero's technique is flawless, and the attention to detail is evident in every part of the sculpture. Each element has been carefully created and assembled to form a harmonious and coherent work of art. In summary, Romero's sculpture of an ant is a unique work of contemporary art that stands out for its originality and quality. The combination of materials and attention to detail are apparent in every aspect of the work, and the choice of the central theme is particularly apt. Ultimately, this is a piece that invites reflection on our relationship with the natural world and technology. The ant symbolizes abundance, prosperity, construction, patience, family and unity. "I am fascinated by its strength, organization and the balance it maintains with nature". "When I see an ant, I remember how small and vulnerable we are and at the same time how incredible and wonderful we are, they awaken a tender humility in my being. The purpose of this work is to reconnect with the earth, its balance and its beauty." The work has been designed and elaborated by hand in Barcelona, it is unique. Marcos, IS A SEEKER OF HIDDEN TREASURES, in woods, shores and rivers. An artist who unveils the beauty of stones, metals, woods and glass. Later he discovered his passion for nature painting deserts, ants and bees, with which he closed a pictorial cycle. In 2006, he was reborn as a sculptor, the Earth being his inspiration again and rooted in it, he contacted his spirit to discover the INVISIBLE in the VISIBLE. His artistic training in painting and sculpture has always been self-taught. Per L'arc Here some fragments for one of his latest exhibition catalogue “I think that a work of art should puzzle viewers, make them reflect on the meaning of life” Antoni Tàpies Moisés Gil’s sculptures can be described as philosophical and conceptual, as they encourage individuals to reflect and act in a never-ending existential struggle, in the face of the multiple situations by which they are affected in contemporary societies. Art is always a form of communication: communication with and between the materials employed by the artist, giving rise to an aesthetic visual balance able to convey feelings, emotions and ideas, all of which are essential to a nonconformist commitment and worldview. Moisés Gil puts his representations of individuals in sculptural structures to better indicate the place of humans in the world, the place of contemporary individuals in their different environments, sometimes hostile; they are naked men...
