Mariko
Contrebasse

2014

About the Item

Mariko’s Contrebasse is a contemporary bronze sculpture with a black patina color in reference to ebony. This balanced construction is a harmony between the double bass shape and the feminine body. Studying at “Les Beaux-Arts” in France, Mariko - who grew up in Africa - was marked by the Cubist movement, in particular the transformation of volumes and shapes. The artist seeks balance and harmony to enlighten the vital strengths. Dimensions: H. 40in x W. 11in x D. 10in
