Pierre Yermia
Great Stag by Pierre Yermia - Large animal bronze sculpture, monumental

2017

About the Item

Grand Cerf (Great Stag) is a monumental bronze sculpture by French contemporary artist Pierre Yermia. The strength of the stag's body and its slender legs bestow it with a contradictory silhouette of the greatest elegance. In true fashion, the artist succeeds in portraying in this one sculpture strength and delicacy, immobility and imminence of movement, balance and insecurity. Bronze sculpture signed and numbered in a limited edition of 8 + 4 artist's proofs. 300 cm x 200 cm x 100 cm. Pierre Yermia's work has a very unique way of conveying both human and animal forms. Be it individual characters or small groups, standing or laying down, or whether bull, bird or big cat, the artist pushes the sculpture to a fragile point of balance by elongating the different proportions to create a tension between stability and lightness.
