Purpose: The Archer, bronze a sculpture by Guatemalan artist Walter Peter Brenner.
Brown patina made of iron nitrate with a wax finish.
Dimensions of the human figure: H122 cm, D14 cm, L75 cm.
Dimensions of the mirror: H124 cm, L90 cm.
Dimensions of the marble base: H20 cm, D 12 cm.
Limited edition of 8 + 4 Artist's Proofs.
The ultimate goal of this piece of art was to create and express the highest values and virtues of mankind.
The fundamental aesthetic idea is that the archer is not really an archer as such, but a man that aims and reaches to himself. He reaches his highest values and purposes. He is capable of controlling his own destiny.

Walter Peter Brenner
The beauty and the grandeur of human form are at the heart of Walter Peter Brenner’s work. The sculptor has for 17 years been developing works which go against the dogmas of his time and which exalt, by their nobility, an heroic sense of life. In his sculptures there are references to antiquity, be it in the themes (Prometheus, Hercules, Atlas...) or in the bodies of his works (athletic, powerful, noble). The artist has created several monumental commissions for private and public spaces, the best known of which is the 10-metre-high terracotta sculpture «The Colossus of Inmaco», exhibited in Guatemala City. “Romantic heroism is what really represents my work. A heroic sense of life, a sense that man is capable of shaping and modelling his own destiny. A sense of hope.’’
