Kelly Graval (RISK) is a multi-talented creator, illustrator, and street artist who pioneered the West Coast graffiti movement. Born in 1967, RISK attended the USC School of Fine Arts, where he began to build his permanent notoriety in Los Angeles. The first street artist to paint freeway overpasses, dubbed “hitting up the heavens,” RISK’s legacy in contemporary art history is unmistakable. His talents quickly proved far from singular, expanding to canvas, sculpture, and massive street murals that celebrate and interact with their surrounding communities. Focused on transforming graffiti from an expressive subculture to an art form represented in galleries, RISK launched the Third Rail series of shows exhibiting the versatile medium. His art can be seen in the music videos of Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ice Cube, and Bad Religion. A regular collaborator with some of the world’s top musicians, RISK has created commissions for Aerosmith, hand-painted concert outfits for Halsey, and the cover art for Blink 182...

The colour profile here is Hill’s characteristically vivid palette-- orange, yellow, blue, red, and green punctuated by black and white. Delicately balanced, the sculpture moves in the air redefining the space and affording the viewer a fresh ‘view’. Mobiles have existed for millennia—at first as windchimes, then re-imagined by Russian sculptors...
