Hand finished and individually painted in the UK. please contact us for custom shipping options Since the dawn of 2020 the unprecedented disruption caused by Covid-19 undoubtedly had an adverse effect on artists of many walks of life. However, with the necessity to survive and evolve artistically it forced new partnerships between people of different creative disciplines to further explore new methods and ways of working together. This has had a hugely positive effect and has been the catalyst that enabled new relationships to blossom in a short space of time. Such a connection was struck between Movi_808 and Mr Penfold when they began to discuss and explore the possibility of transforming Penfold’s existing world-famous 2D illustrations into the 3D world whilst equally keeping true to his original concept. 'Super King' became their first project together and went from concept to physical object in less than 6 weeks. Communicating remotely, a parity between sculpture/maker with artist/designer was achieved. Using Movi’s vast experience as a hands-on producer of high end sculptures and by mixing their disciplines the goal has been achieved. Culminating in the creation of this impactful and original contemporary art piece which so far has had wide appeal and has attracted much attention. Mr Penfold (Tim Gresham) Tim Gresham, aka Mr Penfold, works across a variety of media from his Bristol-based studio. His chosen fields range from explorative, abstract paintings and screen printing to bold, large-scale murals and immersive installations. His artwork has been exhibited in galleries and institutions globally and he has collaborated with some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Adidas, Nike, Disney, Smirnoff, Stella Artois and Diesel. Movi_808 (Kristian Movahed) A UK based artisanal sculpture producer and 3D concept developer specialising in physical production. After almost 14 years of running his own business specialising in the production of high end 3d sculptures a change of path was made. His team's 'makes' were used for some of the world's most prestigious premium brand campaigns and luxury flagship stores, especially in the designer fashion world. At the end of 2019 a decision was made to take a break from the commercial world and to put his skill sets and passions into the contemporary art world. His main focus was on the production of highly finished surface forms. Movi_808 combines modern methods of production with the labour intensive manual hand finishing processes. These practices give a truly premium look and feel without the appearance of being mass produced.
