About the Item

This piece is a hologram encased in hand-ground glass and can be hung from the ceiling (in front of a window) or displayed as a singular sculptural object. C Alex Clark's creative practice spans traditional and experimental methods of photography, video, conceptual and installation work. In their glass holograms, C offers alternative pathways for perceiving and imagining light and space while conceptually marrying these objects with the queer histories that the artist attempts to echo. Sometimes this is literal and involves the naming of a prominent LGBT icon in the naming of the piece, but more often than not, C Alex Clark pushes the viewer to use their work as a point from which to access more complicated and expansive perspectives on gender, economics and power.
