Patricia Corredor
22 inch Tall Original Metal Gold Minimalist Tree Sculpture "Urapan Fraxinus"

2019

About the Item

Patricia Corredor's modern sculptures evolve from her drawings into three-dimensional metal shapes created with precision laser cutting. She finishes the artworks with layers of electrostatic paint and anticorrosion treatments which give them the vivid matte finishes which are distinctive of her style. She imagines her work “as if the figures and images had the necessity to feel the air, experience climatic changes, and contribute to the landscape in a public space.” With themes inspired by experiences from the environment, images, objects that evoke memories, and current personal or societal problems; Corredor is interested in using symbols of nature as a resource in her art. This bright matte-finished 3-dimensional metal sculpture measures 22 inches high by 10 inches wide. This gold-colored sculpture can be placed on any flat surface. Free delivery in the local Los Angeles area. Affordable Continental U.S. and International shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Picturing her large-scale sculptural work in open spaces, Corredor develops themes that have a deep relationship with their natural environment. She aims to pose didactic and constructive messages to the observer, bringing awareness to issues of climate change, specifically how it relates to the extinction of species of Colombia’s rich flora and fauna. Corredor sees the preservation of nature as a communal responsibility and transmits this message through her art. Corredor was born in 1960 in Bogotá, Colombia. Studying arts at Los Andes University in Bogotá, Corredor felt more attracted to explore works in 3-dimensional mediums. Influences for Corredor’s work include Magical Realism, artists such as Brancusi, Caro, Oldenburg, and the Colombian Eduardo Ramirez Villamizar among others. Corredor’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums including The Museum of Modern Art in Bogotá, The International Sculpture Competition and the National Ceramic Event in Bogotá, and the CSE public art exhibition amongst others. • Sujoon - Haint Blues - Large Sculputural Original Three-Dimensional Wall Art
    By Atticus Adams
    Located in Los Angeles, CA
Atticus Adams' organically composed modern metal sculptures embody the transformative power of contemporary wall art, illustrating the creation of beauty, meaning, and emotional impact from industrial materials. Using mostly aluminum mesh—generally found in screen doors, windows, and filters—he creates contemporary abstract sculptural artworks and installations, which resemble flowers, clouds, and other natural phenomena. Working in metal, Adams effortlessly transforms rigid material into airy, effervescent artworks. This circular 60-inch high by 60-inch wide and 4-inch deep metal sculpture is a lightweight form created from aluminum mesh, gesso, acrylic paint, and wire. It has metal rings affixed on the back which allows for easy installation. Atticus works spontaneously, feeling his way toward the objects that take shape in his mind as he shapes them almost entirely by hand. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Atticus grew up in West Virginia, steeped in traditional folk art. Several members of his family are self-taught artists, deeply involved in such crafts as wood carving and quilting. His formal art training includes stints at Yale, Rhode Island School of Design, and Harvard’s School of Architecture. Atticus has fond summer memories of screened-in porches back home and screen doors that practically dissolved the barrier between inside and outside, allowing the warmth and nature to permeate each day. This association continues to resonate in his art. “Metal mesh is a beautiful, flexible material that allows you to explore shadow and transparency in endless ways,” he says. “The material lends itself to these biomorphic shapes, which aren’t necessarily intentional . . . The sculptures seem fragile but are actually quite resilient—like nature itself.” A well-known sculptor, the organically inspired artworks of Atticus Adams are held in public and private collections and are exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States.
