About

Peony Rose is a striking and substantial piece by Brirish artist Tim Shaw. Shaw's blown glass vessels are vibrant in color and daring in execution. The artist takes traditional blown forms then "slash and cuts" them with a diamond saw to carve and sculpt the surface. He states, "This process is dangerous and exhilarating at the same time".
Shaw has a BA from North Staffordshire Polytechnic in the UK, and went on to study at the avant-garde Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. His creative talent was recognized by his peers, and he was invited to undertake his second MA at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London.
The artist has resided in Australia for the past twelve years. For more information on Peony Rose call Bender. Gallery.
