Technique
A combination of several techniques that cause the metal to behave like paper
and takes the form of a unicorn combined with hand painting, spray paint, airbrush
and several other techniques of painting with a crystal finish
Explanation
At a Friday evening I was with my niece, an amazing girl named Orpaz, and I taught
her how to fold a paper swan
Then she asked me
"Uncle Shimon, do you know how to make a unicorn? "
"I told her "I don't know but I will learn how and I will do it for you ,
And this is where the idea was born to make a unicorn using the metal folding technique
After a long process the unicorn stood beautiful and magnificent .
I didn't know what I wanted to convey
what emotion I wanted the viewer to experience when looking at it ,
,Then Orpaz suddenly arrived and entered into my house
"She smiled a huge smile and said "Wow wow unicorn, it's a unicorn, it's amazing
And at that moment I knew that this is the experience I want the viewer to
experience, this excitement that children hold and
we adults tend to forget it a little
In every choice of shade, in every stroke of
a brush, in every moment when I worked
on the piece Orpaz's words rang in my ears ,
I tried to draw, see, and convey to you the unicorn
through the eyes of Orpaz.
